Meeting Times and Locations

The Climate Action and Resilience Committee (CARC) meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm at the Community Development Department - Pier Conference Room (1800 Francisco Boulevard, Pacifica, CA 94044).

Meeting agendas are emailed to subscribers and posted on the City’s website.

 

Purpose and Objectives

The Climate Action and Resilience Committee was formed in September 2025 through Resolution No. 85-2025 to serve as an advisory body to the City Council to support implementation of the [Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP)].

The purpose and objectives of the CARC are to:

  • Advise the City Council on issues pertaining to greenhouse gas emissions reduction, environmental sustainability and resilience, and related areas identified in the CARP.
  • Provide recommendations to support City efforts to implement CARP goals and actions, including identifying potential funding sources.
  • Prepare and present an annual CARC work plan to City Council each May, aligning priorities with the General Plan, Local Coastal Land Use Plan, and other guiding policy documents.
  • Report on work plan progress, including greenhouse gas emissions reduction data, if available.

Membership

The Climate Action and Resilience Committee membership is comprised of:

  • Seven (7) at-large members appointed by the City Council to serve four-year terms
  • Two (2) youth members (ages 14–25) appointed by the City Council to serve one-year terms, which can be renewed for additional one-year terms up to a total of four (4) years.
