Community Info & Resources

  • The Pacifica Resource Center is available to assist our community with essential services, including groceries, housing assistance, and other critical services. They have modified service delivery to minimize contact in the community and encourage you to reach out if you need help or would like to help during this time. See their website for more information and for the most up to date information.
  • On March 24, 2020, San Mateo County established a temporary, countywide moratorium on eviction due to non-payment of rent by residential tenants directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Find more information, including FAQs, on the County's Housing website.
  • On April 13, 2020 Pacifica City Council adopted an urgency ordinance establishing a temporary moratorium on commercial tenant evictions for non-payment of rent for tenants impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in the City of Pacifica. You can see the Ordinance language here.
  • The Child Care Coordinating Council has compiled a list of Child Care Programs for Essential Workers.
  • Second Harvest Food Bank is working hard to provide the community with food.
  • San Mateo County Libraries are closed to public access effective Monday, March 16 – Thursday, April 30. The libraries continue to make wifi available to the public. It can be accessed at any of the San Mateo County Library parking lots. For more information about continued or modified services offered during the closure, see their website here.

    • The Transit District has updated information on the SamTrans and Caltrain pages. Note that the most recent update includes service reductions that are necessary in response to ridership losses and school closures.

Volunteering & Donations

  • The County may need volunteers to help serve vulnerable members of our community. If you are interested in helping, sign up here.
  • San Mateo County Strong Fund is accepting donations that will go to specifically benefit San Mateo County residents, small businesses, and non-profits.
  • Medical donations can be made by emailing SMCMedDonations@smcgov.org.
  • The California Volunteers website provides information on how to help in your community by donating time, food, supplies, blood, or money.
  • Second Harvest Bank knows many community members are asking, “How can I help right now?”. They make suggestions here, as well as answer many commonly asked questions.
