We have been advised that on May 18, 2010 the Tour D'California bicycle race will be coming through Pacifica. As occurred last year, portions of SR-1 will be closed down to allow the racers unimpeded access to the roadway. This year, they will be starting this leg of the race in Golden Gate Park and enter Pacifica via SR-35. The estimate is that the racers will arrive in Pacifica, at SR-35 and SR-1 at 1130 to 1134 hours. At that time, all of SB-1 will be closed to traffic. Traffic will also be stopped N/B SR-1 at Linda Mar Blvd and Crespi Dr. It is estimated that SR-1 will only be closed approximately 20 minutes. The race organizers are aware that if a life emergency exists; the race will be stopped to allow fire or EMS access to SR-1. Per CHP, the authority for the closure of local state routes and for permitting of this race comes directly from the Office of the Governor, and any comments, complaints or concerns should be directed to that office
