On February 7, 2013 the Financing City Services Task Force and the City Council met in joint Study Session to discuss how to proceed with revising the Five Year Financial Plan. The City Council determined that the next step was for the Council to meet in work sessions in February and March and finish revising the Five Year Financial Plan.

The City of Pacifica created the Financing City Services Task Force on September 22, 2008. This committee will automatically sunset on December 31, 2015.
Objectives for the Financing City Services Task Force as established by the City Council are as follows:
- Work with staff to review service levels and expenditures;
- Explore ways to reduce costs and achieve efficiencies in City operations;
- Examine revenues and explore the need for additional or revised methods to finance City services;
- Develop a Five Year Financial Plan that will incorporate the results of the Task Force’s review of expenditures and revenues and develop recommendations for resolving the structural deficit
