The City of Pacifica is governed by a five-member city council elected at-large to four-year terms. The mayor is selected from among members of the city council by majority vote of the council. The mayor serves a one-year term beginning in December of each year. Listed below is the current structure of the Pacifica City Council, with term expiration dates included.

The Pacifica City Council meets at 7:00pm on the second and fourth Monday of each month at the City Council Chambers located at 2212 Beach Boulevard on the second floor.
